From all of us to all of you
Season’s greetings from your team at Norseman, where despite the cold weather, the snow and the short days and long nights, we’re dreaming of welcoming you to Eidfjord next August! Thinking about summer in the mountains keeps us motivated and hopefully is helping inspire you to keep on training through the festive (and sometimes dark and cold!) season.
We are so happy we’ve been able to welcome an additional 250 athletes to the Norseman family next year, as we offer two races on two days to celebrate our tenth anniversary. We had a total of 1,365 applicants representing 43 nationalities, with just 10 percent of the applicant pool made up of women. Forty-seven percent of the applicants come from outside Norway. We used a quota system for gender and nationality to allocate places.
A small runners-up group was notified they have a second shot at a place in the race earlier this month. Those runners-up start numbers will be allocated if athletes who were part of the original pool are unable to take up their place on the start line.
We were overwhelmed by interest in the race this year, and we’re so sorry that some people have had to miss out – please try again next year. We continue to be bowled over by your support for the event over the last ten years.
